"Casket Closed"

She won't let them know,
About the bruises on her arms,
And all the punches he's thrown.
So she cries every night,
Wishing it would all go away,
But she can’t leave him,
Cuz he always makes her stay.
She tried to cover 'em up,
But they still shows through,
And when you look into her eyes,
All her scars stare back at you.

She is screaming for help,
But nobody’s listening.
And she wants to be seen,
But the world is blind.
She fears for her life,
But nobody seems to care.
So she runs away,
Getting nowhere.

They couldn't tell,
Not 'til it was too late-
The coffin shut, the casket closed,
Too mangled to conceal.
He had gotten worse,
Condemning her fate.
One last fight,
End of the course
And with a scream to the night
All was still.
